Short bio

Kai van Eikels combines philosophy, theater and performance studies in his work. His research topics include: collectivity and politics of participation; time and matter in performance; art and labor; series and seriality in different artistic disciplines. He is currently teaching at Ruhr Universität Bochum. After his book Die Kunst des Kollektiven, which was published in 2013, and two collectively written books – Art works. Ästhetik des Postfordismus, with Netzwerk Kunst & Arbeit, 2016; and Szenen des Virtuosen, with Gabriele Brandstetter and Bettina Brandl-Risi, 2017 – he is currently preparing a small book on synchronization and collective dynamics.
